Job Title: Class Teacher with SEND Specialism
Braintcroft are establishing a new SEND High Needs class within its mainstream school and is seeking an exceptional SEND Class Teacher to join our dedicated team in April 2026, or earlier if available.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic teacher to join our welcoming team, supporting children in Years 1 to 3 with a range of complex needs. This is a rewarding role where you will help children develop their speech and language skills, nurture their confidence, and create learning experiences that are accessible and engaging for every child. You will play a vital part in supporting children who cannot access the mainstream curriculum, adapting lessons to meet their individual needs and celebrating every achievement, no matter how small. Experience in special schools or SEND settings is highly valued, particularly in helping children transition back into mainstream education. Most importantly, we are seeking someone who truly understands the role of SEND provision and is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment where every child can thrive.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver a high‑quality, engaging curriculum designed for children with additional and complex needs in the High Needs classroom (Years 1-3), continually enhancing the offer to meet diverse learner needs.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, including the EHC needs assessment process and annual EHCP reviews.
- Work collaboratively with outside professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and advisory teachers.
- Build strong partnerships with families, supporting their understanding of SEN and their children’s individual needs.
- Contribute to the whole‑school SEND strategy and engage in relevant CPD to continually develop practice.
- Accurately assess children’s progress and adapt teaching approaches to provide effective support.
Pay range: M1 - M6 (Inner London) £40,317 - £52,300
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching in a primary setting
- Strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive pedagogy.
- Ability to differentiate effectively and manage diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
Desirable:
- Additional SEND qualification or training (e.g., NASENCO, Autism, Dyslexia).
- Experience working with pupils with complex needs
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive resources.
- Ability to lead small group interventions or specialist programmes.
