Class Teacher with Year Group Lead Responsibility

Have qualified teacher status
An enhanced DBS disclosure (completed on appointment)
Proven suitability to work with children and young people

Essential skills and experience

Have detailed knowledge of the relevant aspects of the National Curriculum, Revised Primary Strategy and other relevant documents.
Provide guidance, support and advice to all teaching staff across all subjects in the curriculum, thus impacting on every educational element of the curriculum.
Demonstrate how strategies for motivating staff contribute to raising standards and school improvement.
Be able to ensure effective teaching of whole class, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met.
Be able to assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment for future teaching on a daily basis.
Show an understanding of the important role of parents and the community in school improvement, and how this can be developed
Understand the need to take responsibility for your own professional development and to keep up-to-date with research and developments in pedagogy and in the subjects they teach.
