Class Teacher job summary
Wroxton Primary school is looking for a compassionate, creative and flexible teacher to join our KS2 team. Working collaboratively, this position is suitable for a full time or part time teacher who really wants to work in a small school, sharing workload and ideas as well as being part of a mutually supportive team. Please state full or part time in your application.
As a member of an ODST school, you will have outstanding professional development opportunities, either through mentoring as a newly qualified teacher or by developing your professional skills and interests if more experienced.
Wroxton is a half for entry school, with children from Reception to Year 6. We ensure children learn from their individual starting points with a highly inclusive philosophy ensuring every child gets what they need, when they need it. Driven by our Vision to 'Aspire to be our Best with Love, Compassion and Courage', our curriculum is carefully organised to develop children's language and reading skills and ensure that mathematical development has an equally high priority. Foundation subjects are taught creatively, with children engaging in a high level of educational and cultural visits, events and activities and enabling learning to be a lived experience which they love to share with each other, their families and our community.
We work with our sister school, St Mary's Primary School, Banbury, in an Executive partnership which gives exciting opportunities to work with colleagues in a much larger, urban location five minutes away and to further enhance and grow our professional network and skills.
Specialist sport and music provision is further enhanced with Commando Joe's character education and our playtimes are the best! Wroxton is working towards an OPAL Award for play, making our playtimes fun, exciting and inclusive. Our well established breakfast and after school clubs, provide support for working families and the children know they are loved and cared for with compassion and love.
Our teachers plan in teams, sharing the workload and having joint PPA whenever possible. Our wellbeing is a priority and this is a team that looks after each other and has fun together just as much as it is committed to great outcomes for the children.
Supported by a deeply committed school leadership team, active local Governors and ODST this is an opportunity for an ambitious, positive and exciting teacher to make a difference in the lives of a wide range of children.

Wroxton is a small school that feeds from the North of Banbury. The school has an eclectic mix of pupils, coming from a wide range of social, economic and religious backgrounds. Parents choose Wroxton based on our Christian Values and how they are embedded in everything we do. Children at Wroxton have a strong sense of right and wrong and are able to articulate this to staff, visitors and other pupils. Wroxton is a school where making mistakes is seen as a learning opportunity and one where children see adults learning alongside them and not afraid of getting it wrong.
The school has a good relationship with the local church and where possible makes links with the village. The school has extensive grounds for such a small school and also has access to Wroxton Abbey. Most people that come to Wroxton comment on the friendly, fun, warm and caring environment that the children are in and feel that the children are well cared for and their opinions valued.
We are proud to be part of Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST).
Wroxton CE Primary School became part of Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST) in April 2017. ODST is a thriving Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire. It is one of the largest MATs in the region, with five geographical hubs to support school-to-school collaboration.
ODST values the unique identity of each school in the trust. Schools have the freedom to serve their
individual communities in the way they know best, with support from ODST to ensure they have
what they need to deliver the best for their pupils.
