What skills and experience we're looking for
This position is linked to a Year 8 student with high functioning autism who will needhelp and supportin lessons tobe able to access their learning and make progress. As such, the role is fixed term for the duration of the student’s academic career at the Academy (Year 8 to Year 11 and possibly thereafter, Sixth Form).
The Student Support Team is a very close-knit and effective group of individuals who provide high quality and personalised care and support in the belief that this is key to student success and enjoyment during their time at the Academy.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible, resilient and hardworking and committed to the role. A natural empathy, caring nature and proven experience of working with vulnerable and challenging students is an advantage as such these qualities are essential requirements to work in this challenging but extremely rewarding position.
