Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals who need personalised support? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1 to 1 Classroom Assistant to join our team at Great Ellingham Primary School supporting an EYFS learner.
Working hours: 27.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday 08:45 – 3:15pm, with 1 hour for lunch
1 to 1 Classroom Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to children, ensuring their comfort, dignity and safety.
- Assist with day-to-day activities, promoting independence and positive behaviour.
- Implement and follow SEN support plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of daily activities and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with children and school staff.
- Assist children with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in working towards their educational goals.
- Address both the emotional and educational needs of children.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers to ensure individualised learning and emotional support.
- Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all children.
1 to 1 Classroom Assistant Requirements:
- Prior experience working with SEN is advantageous, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with school staff, parents, and carers.
- Certificates in supporting teaching and learning are beneficial.
- Availability to work for 27.5 hours per week at the times as detailed above.
- Be committed to the school’s high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care
- Right to work full time in the UK is essential.
