Classroom Teacher job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a talented Key Stage 2 teacher to teach as part of the team at Arno Vale Junior School. We are a popular, welcoming and friendly school in Woodthorpe, Nottingham with supportive parents and wonderful, incredibly well-behaved children who want to learn.

The successful candidate will join a team who put the children at the centre of everything we do.

We are looking for someone who is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations and a good sense of humour. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential elements of the post. You will be committed to offering the best opportunities for the young people in our school.

This role would be especially well suited to an ECT, with access to experienced mentors, a strong track record of supporting early career teachers and a structured professional development programme.

Arno Vale Junior School is situated in Woodthorpe, a pleasant residential area on the northern outskirts of Nottingham. The school is an exciting place to work. We are culturally diverse and have a well-deserved reputation for the inclusion of vulnerable pupils. Parents take a close and supportive interest in their children’s education. Arno Vale is proud of its extra-curricular activities, its academic achievement, and its reputation as an inclusive and caring school. This was confirmed in May 2024 when Ofsted found that ‘Pupils are kind, polite, and respectful’ and ‘the school is ambitious for all pupils to achieve well’ resulting in an overall judgement of ‘Good’. We can offer you well-behaved and motivated pupils, CPD opportunities and a highly committed staff who have a variety of skills and interests.

Additional Information about our School can be found at https://www.arnovale.co.uk

Visits to the school are actively encouraged.
