North Tawton Community Primary School and Nursery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Reception teacher who is passionate about providing outstanding provision for our youngest learners. Visits to the school are encouraged.

North Tawton Community Primary School and Nursery is nestled in the heart of this small town with close links to the community and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The school itself has extensive grounds, including a forest school, playing fields and an orchard. We have a busy Nursery for 2 year olds upwards, and around 135 children from Reception to Year 6. We are a close-knit team who work together to provide an excellent learning environment.


As our Reception Class Teacher, you will create a nurturing, engaging and inclusive environment where children feel confident, curious and ready to explore. You will plan rich, purposeful learning experiences that follow children’s interests, foster independence and reflect a strong understanding of child development. You will be working closely with our Nursery team in our well-resourced EYFS unit.

The successful candidate will be required to come to DMAT HQ to complete mandatory training.

Training Details:

Location: Central Head Office (Wardhayes) 8 Simmons Way, Okehampton, EX20 1PY

Purpose: To provide comprehensive training on company policies, procedures, and systems necessary for successful integration into the role.

Training Schedule: Daily sessions from 9am to 4pm, with breaks provided.
