Classroom Teacher job summary
King’s Academy Ringmer is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Mathematics to join our thriving secondary school on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of mathematics, deliver high-quality teaching and learning, and support pupils to achieve their full potential within a supportive and ambitious school community.
The appointment is temporary to cover the temporary promotion of the current post holder during a period of maternity leave. It is anticipated that the appointment will run until Thursday 22nd July 2027.
Working closely with colleagues within the Mathematics Department and across the wider school, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and inspire learners of all abilities. You will create a classroom environment where pupils feel safe, supported and motivated to succeed, while maintaining high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation.
You will be committed to developing pupils' mathematical knowledge, problem-solving skills and confidence, enabling them to make strong progress and achieve positive outcomes. Through effective assessment and feedback, you will monitor progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
As a valued member of our staff team, you will contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting enrichment opportunities and collaborating with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning. About you
You are a passionate and reflective teacher of Mathematics with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. Whether you are an experienced teacher or at an earlier stage in your career, you are able to engage and inspire pupils and help them develop confidence and success in mathematics.
You have experience of planning and delivering lessons that challenge and support learners of all abilities and are confident in using assessment to inform your teaching and improve outcomes. You understand the importance of creating an inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued, supported and able to thrive.
You are a positive team player who builds strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families and is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school. You are resilient, adaptable and committed to your own professional development.
Above all, you believe in the power of education to transform lives and are dedicated to improving outcomes and opportunities for every pupil.
