Classroom Teacher KS1 job summary

Contract: Full time, permanent

Dorridge Primary School is a ‘happy and high performing school’. Situated just minutes off Junction 4 of the M42 and only 3 miles from the town of Solihull. Our recent Ofsted report in September 2024 spoke about pupils whobehave impeccably at all points of the day’ in a school where the staff ‘provide a wealth of opportunities for pupils to develop skills and widen their experiences outside of the classroom.’ As an innovative school with a steely determination for the academic achievement of its pupils, and as part of a Multi Academy Trust there is the opportunity for exceptional training and the sharing of knowledge and ideas.

We are looking for a positive and skilled classroom teacher to deliver the highest level of teaching & learning for our aspirational pupils. We want a teacher who has the skills and desire to develop and nurture every child in their care. They will deliver consistently good teaching and learning, in order to help all pupils to achieve excellent academic results. In return, they will work alongside staff who will coach, nurture and lead by example to ensure the best for their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join an ambitious school:

  • to work with pupils who are committed to their learning and passionate about their own further professional development
  • to work to raise the outcomes for all pupils by inspiring and motivating pupils and staff alike.

All staff work hard, supported by a committed leadership team, to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • an individual with the commitment to driving standards and ensuring every child is challenged to achieve their maximum potential
  • a teacher with experience of raising attainment of all pupils
  • someone who is committed to developing their own teaching practice in a supportive team environment
  • a professional who is able to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders
  • an excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a team

Please see the ‘Candidate Information Pack’, including the job description and person specification, that is provided.

In return we can offer you:

  • A positive and innovative learning culture supported by pupils, staff, parents and governors
  • Enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning and engage positively in all aspects of school life
  • A collaborative and supportive attitude amongst staff which promotes a sense of teamwork and unity
  • A Senior Leadership team who is committed to promoting the best environment and outcomes for staff and pupils
  • Opportunities for CPD and progression as part of a Multi Academy Trust
  • Teacher Pension
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
