Classroom Teacher (KS2) job summary
Hooe Primary Academy is a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school at the heart of its community. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher who will take responsibility for a Key Stage 2 class and play a full part in school life. You will deliver high-quality teaching that inspires children, supports excellent progress, and reflects our inclusive values.
The successful candidate will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum
- Assess, record and report on pupil progress, using both formative and summative methods
- Deliver statutory and non-statutory assessments
- Set clear, ambitious targets based on pupils’ prior attainment
- Meet the needs of all learners through effective differentiation
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports all pupils
- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policy
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents and external agencies
- Lead and direct support staff effectively within the classroom
- Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities
- Uphold school and trust policies, including safeguarding and data protection
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2
- Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and a passion for learning
- Have secure knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Use assessment effectively to support pupil progress
- Have strong behaviour management skills, using a positive approach
- Are committed to inclusion and removing barriers to achievement

Hooe Primary Academy is a Happy school where everyone is Passionate and Ambitious about learning.
We are a one form entry school within Hooe which was established in 1926. We have a fantastic school site with three playgrounds, a large school field, and additional classroom spaces which are used for a range of activities. Our primary aim is to encourage all our pupils to be self-confident, inquiring, tolerant, positive individuals, who have respect for the differences of others.
Our children are friendly, kind and keen to learn; this is a reflection of our whole school team. Our team is very driven and everyone works hard to ensure we provide the very best.
