We are looking for two dedicated and reliable Cleaners to join our team at Sidegate Primary School. These roles are essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Job title: Cleaner – 2 Positions Available
Location: Sidegate Primary School
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time, (Monday to Friday 3:15pm-6:15pm)
Position 1: 15 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (term time + holiday clean) Position 2: 12 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (term time + holiday clean)
Salary: Position 1: ALT Grade A, Point 2 - £8,810.98 - Annually Actual Position 2: ALT Grade A, Point 2 - £7,048.78 – Annually Actual

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general cleaning duties, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying bins
- Clean and maintain classrooms, corridors, toilets, and other areas of the academy
- Report any safety or maintenance issues to the line manager
- Assisting with deep cleaning during school holidays

Sidegate is a vibrant three-form entry primary school in the north of Ipswich. The school hosts a 25 place Specialist Education Unit for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, giving approximately 655 pupils on roll. The school boasts large grounds, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and good ICT provision. We pride ourselves in the broad and engaging curriculum we offer our pupils; sport and culture
feature highly and are used to enhance the curriculum in all areas. The school received a “Good” Ofsted rating in October 2022. We were the first primary school in Suffolk to be awarded the prestigious Platinum Artsmark in November 2019; we also hold quality marks in RE, Science and Sport.
Sidegate became an academy in May 2014 with The Active Learning Trust (ALT). ALT encourages each of their schools to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in the school. They work closely with the school, providing specialist advisory support as necessary. We work closely with other schools in the ALT Ipswich Hub and the Northgate Pyramid of Schools.
