Cleaner job summary

You may have experience in the cleaning industry or have previously worked in a school environment but most importantly, you will enjoy working as part of a team and have great attention to detail. Typically, this role will involve working in the afternoon, however during periods of school closure there may be the opportunity for cleaning to take place during the day.

The role includes:

  • Cleaning all surfaces, fixtures and fittings
  • Cleaning floors, walls, partitions and internal woodwork as appropriate
  • Cleaning toilets, changing rooms and other sanitary areas
  • Cleaning equipment after use
  • Undertaking special cleaning programmes during academy closure or other designated periods in compliance with the specification for the premises
  • Collecting and disposing of waste in appropriate manner
  • Cleaning and maintaining waste bins

The post holder will be responsible to the Cleaning Supervisor.

Please note the expected working hours for this post are 12.5 hours per week 3:30pm - 6:00pm or 4:00pm - 6:30pm.

Our cleaners work all year round, however have the opportunity in the school holidays to work earlier/condensed shift patterns. All staff receive 26 days paid holiday plus statutory holidays.
