Cleaner job summary
We are looking for a conscientious and committed cleaner to join us onsite and provide a happy and safe environment for both staff and students. This is a hands-on role that requires energy and passion for a spotless environment. You must work to a high standard, have attention to detail and most importantly take pride in your work. Cleaning experience is preferred however full training will be provided.
Ormiston Six Villages Academy, is an exciting and supportive place to work. We aim to stretch, to stimulate and grow a love of life-long learning. Ormiston Six Villages Academy is a secondary school for children aged 11-16. It is situated in Chichester in West Sussex and there are 750 pupils on its roll.
Our new colleague will also benefit from being part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a MAT of 43 primary and secondary academies. The Trust’s vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential. OAT support all staff so that they can enhance and develop their professional skills whatever their role within the trust.
The successful applicant can opt to work 17.5 hours or 22.5 hours. A general outline of the role is below but please see the attached job description for full information;
Key Responsibilities/tasks:
- Undertake cleaning duties which may include dusting, emptying bins, picking up litter, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, scrubbing, buffing, polishing, toilet cleaning in areas of the establishment.
- Assist in the preparation of rooms and appropriate work areas e.g. meeting rooms, classrooms.
- Store all equipment and chemicals used in the appropriate manner.
- May undertake specialised cleaning programmes during the school closures or other designated periods.
