Cleaner job summary

We are seeking to appoint a cleaner to join our maintenance team in Irthlingborough Nursery and Infant School from September 2026.

As a cleaner you will be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of an area of the school and ensuring it meets health, safety and hygiene standards for students, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidates will,

  • have responsibility for the for the day-to-day cleaning throughout the school ensuring high standards are maintained.
  • have good organisational and time management skills.
  • be a team player.
  • be able to meet the physical demands of the role.
  • have good communication skills.

You should be able to work using your own initiative but also as part of a team. Previous cleaning experience is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided. Please see the job description for further details.

Hours of Work: 3:15pm to 5:45pm, Monday to Friday. Term time, and one week during the school holiday period as required, a total of 39 weeks per year. Please note that holidays cannot be taken in term time, but an allowance for holiday entitlement is paid accordingly.
