VACANCY for Cleaner

Pay: Scale 1 Term time only + 2 weeks in the holidays (£23,656.00 - £24,027.00 FTE, Pay Award pending)
Hours: 15 hours per week Monday to Friday, 3:15pm-6:15pm
Accountable to: Office and Operations Manager

Milton Park Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our friendly site team. Applicants should be someone who is hardworking and takes pride in their work, having and insisting on high standards, so that our children have a clean and safe place to learn. You will also need to be in good health due to the physical nature of the work. Two weeks are required to be worked during the school holidays (exact hours and days for the additional two weeks are to be agreed with the Site Manager) and occasional overtime cover may be required.

Principle Responsibilities/duties:
Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the school and for maintaining high and consistent standards
Take initiative to perform cleaning tasks that are not specifically contained within the schedule or within your designated area but require attention as part of maintaining overall excellent standards
Liaise with the Site Manager and other members of staff as required

We are looking for someone who will:
Essential

To demonstrate that you can work on your own initiative, be part of a team, take instruction and constructive criticism
Have energy, enthusiasm, positivity and ability to be flexible
Experience in undertaking a range of cleaning duties
Ability to lift awkward and heavy items
Ability to plan own workload and to meet deadlines
Be patient, punctual, reliable and trustworthy
To work within agreed policies, including Health and Safety, as well as adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
Ability to use own initiative to improve areas of practice

Desirable
Knowledge of Health & Safety COSHH regulations
Safeguarding awareness
First Aid qualification
Previous experience in a similar role
