Cleaning Assistant

Contract: Hours 2 - 6 pm Monday to Friday (20 hours a week), 38 weeks a year (Term time)

Salary: H1 - Actual salary (£11,036-£11,385)

Start Date: ASAP

Responsible To: Cleaning Manager

We are looking to recruit a Cleaning Assistant to carry out cleaning duties around the school.

Specific Duties

  • Assisting in general cleaning duties and holiday cleaning

  • Vacuuming and cleaning floors including the use of powered equipment

  • Dusting and polishing furniture and other surfaces

  • Cleaning walls and other paintwork, tiling and mirrors

  • Emptying and cleaning waste bins

  • Cleaning toilets, sinks and basins

  • Keeping cleaning cupboards tidy and spotless

  • Cleaning of equipment

Person Specification:

  • Relevant cleaning experience required

  • Flexibility with working hours and the ability to work in a team

  • Understanding the needs of children and some experience of working in a school setting (desirable)

  • Knowledge of H&S (desirable)

  • Ability to work additional hours during school holidays would be advantageous
