Hours of work: 2.00pm – 7.00pm, Monday – Friday. 42 working weeks per year.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

Responsible for an area to clean and assisting with cleaning as needed, including covering absence

Recording and reporting any defects to the Maintenance Manager

Monitoring cleaning activities of the cleaners and ensuring the school’s high standards are maintained on a daily basis

Reviewing work schedules of the cleaning team and adjusting, as required

Monitoring attendance and informing HR of any absence

Ensuring health and safety safe working practices are followed and all COSHH data sheets are kept up to date and are available to wider staff

Ensuring all equipment is in a safe condition

Ensuring all equipment and cleaning materials are stored away from pupils and kept in an orderly manner

Reviewing and ordering of cleaning materials, as required, making cleaning team aware of any changes to products and chemicals ordered

Ensuring the cleaning staff receive suitable training for the tasks being undertaken and for the equipment and cleaning products being used.

To be a first aider for the cleaning team (training provided)

General

To be aware of and work in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to raise any concerns relating to such procedures which may be noted during the course of duty.

To be aware of and adhere to the school’s Code of Conduct

To maintain confidentiality of information acquired

To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed. We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.

Lavington School is a mixed comprehensive school and currently has 965 students on roll, aged 11 to 18. It is situated on the western edge of the village of Market Lavington, about six miles south of Devizes, in the heart of rural Wiltshire. Numbers on roll have grown over the years with the school being over-subscribed. In 2018 the school opened its Sixth Form as a satellite centre of Devizes School.
