The Role
Richard Lee Primary School is seeking a reliable, committed, and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to lead and work alongside our cleaning team, ensuring the school is maintained to a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
The Cleaning Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day work of the cleaning team while also undertaking cleaning duties. Responsibilities include allocating tasks, monitoring cleaning standards, providing on-the-job support and training, and acting as the first point of contact for cleaning staff during working hours. The role also involves coordinating and participating in deep cleaning during school closure periods.
You will ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety and COSHH requirements, reporting any issues or defects as appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of cleaning to a high standard, ideally within a school or similar environment
- Can supervise, support, and motivate a cleaning team
- Has knowledge of health and safety and safe cleaning practices
- Is well organised, reliable, and able to manage time effectively
- Has good communication skills and a positive, professional approach
- Is willing to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding
