Clerk to Local Academy Board job summary
The purpose of the Clerk role is to ensure the Local Governing Board
(LAB) operates efficiently and effectively in line with its Terms of Reference
and other related documentation. The clerk will report to the
Trust's Governance Officer, as well as being accountable to the Local
Governing Board, working effectively with the Chair, Headteacher and
members.
The Clerk will be responsible for advising the LAB on duties and powers,
and will work within the broad current legislative framework. The Clerk
will secure the continuity of the LAB’s business and observe confidentiality
requirements.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join
our highly committed team of clerks.
Each meeting is allocated 6 hours, which covers the on-site meeting (2
hrs) plus the administration work, which can be undertaken remotely.
The successful applicant will be:

Highly organised and able to set clear priorities in managing their
workload

Able to show a ‘can-do’ attitude and seek solutions to problems

A person who demonstrates excellent initiative

Strong ICT skills, to occasional work virtually.
