Clerk to Local Governing Commitee or Trust Board Committees job summary
Cambrian Learning Trust are recruiting for Governance Professional(s) to join the team, based at schools in and around the Faringdon and Wantage area. Meetings will be held in person at school premises or via Teams. The contract would normally include approximately 6 meetings per school, per year, with approximately 14 hours work per meeting.
Cambrian Learning Trust support the professional development of its employees and as a Trust Governance Professional, you will have the opportunity to undertake an accredited Governance Professional / Clerking certification.
The duties of a Governance Professional include:
Providing advice to the local governing committee on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, in line with the Trust’s guidance and procedures.
Providing effective administrative support to the committee, e.g. preparing agendas, taking minutes, circulating papers, etc.
Ensuring the committee is properly constituted.
We are looking for a person who:
- Has experience in general clerical/ administrative and/or financial work
- Has excellent IT skills.
- Can work flexibly at times convenient to the committee, (late afternoon/evening work for the actual meeting, day or evening work for the preparation and follow up).
You will be required to support the agreed number of meetings per year for which you will be remunerated for up to 14 hours per meeting to support the preparation, attendance of and follow up.
