Clerk to Local Governing Committees job summary

We are a forward-thinking MAT committed to delivering excellence across our family of schools. This is a key support position that provides essential clerking and administrative capacity to Governors, helping the Trust maintain compliance and uphold high standards of governance at the local level. The successful candidate will support the Local Governing Committees of two schools within our Trust.

Key responsibilities will include:

Providing efficient clerking and administrative support to the Local Governing Committees

Organising meetings, preparing agendas and distributing papers in line with statutory and Trust requirements

Accurately recording minutes, decisions, and action points

Managing meeting logistics and ensuring timely follow-up on governance actions

Maintaining governance records and supporting transparency and accountability across the Trust

Has excellent organisational and time-management skills

Is able to demonstrate strong written communication and attention to detail

Is familiar with governance procedures and statutory requirements in education

Has a commitment to professionalism, confidentiality and impartiality
