Salary: St Paul’s Pay Range 3 (£29,572 to £31,586)
(Pro rata Staring Salary £20,381)
30 hours per week, Term time only plus 1 day
Working hours Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.40am-3.35pm, Tuesday 8.50am-3.35pm and Friday 8.40am-2.30pm
We are seeking an additional member of staff to join our team and share the 1:1 support for a Year 7 pupil with complex needs.
The ideal candidate will have paediatric first aid training or experience supporting individuals with medical needs, particularly tracheostomy care, including suctioning. However, full mandatory training will be provided in school. An essential requirement of the role is a willingness to undertake this training and work under the supervision of our school-based medical team. We also welcome applications from candidates without prior medical experience who are committed to developing the necessary skills.
This role would particularly suit a qualified Communication Support Worker and/or someone with experience supporting deaf or hard of hearing pupils. We are looking for an individual who either holds a BSL qualification or is willing to work towards one. A good working knowledge of deafness and a strong commitment to supporting the education and wellbeing of young people are essential. You will join an established team of four CSWs, currently supporting up to nine pupils. Additional responsibilities will include working with deaf and hard of hearing pupils in class and within the Hearing Support Base for targeted interventions.
