About the role

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Manager to lead and deliver a clear, compelling approach to how we connect, communicate and grow as a Trust across Futura Learning Partnership.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this is a varied role combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. You will shape how we engage our people, strengthen our culture, and present the Trust confidently and authentically to external audiences.

With impact across internal engagement, recruitment, reputation and community relationships, this role plays a key part in how we tell our story and support our people.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and schools to ensure communication is consistent, purposeful and meaningful - helping staff feel informed, connected and proud to be part of Futura.

What you’ll be doing

You will:

  • Lead and deliver a Trust-wide communications and engagement strategy that strengthens connection and clarity
  • Develop and manage internal communications, ensuring staff feel informed, listened to and valued
  • Act as the Trust’s brand guardian, maintaining a consistent tone, identity and narrative
  • Oversee marketing and digital channels, including website, social media and campaigns
  • Create engaging, people-centred content that reflects the Trust’s culture, values and impact
  • Lead external communications and PR, including media engagement and stakeholder messaging
  • Support with reputation management and contribute to crisis communication planning
  • Work closely with senior leaders to communicate priorities, change and key messages effectively
  • Lead and develop a small team, ensuring high-quality delivery and clear priorities
  • Use insight, data and feedback to continuously improve communications and engagement
