The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our outstanding teaching team. You are likely to teach students from year 7 to 13. You would not be expected to teach every course we offer, allowing you to focus on specific courses and become a specialist in the areas which interest you. We have a comprehensive set of schemes of work, but with the flexibility to adapt to develop further. We are looking for a team player who will help us to develop and shape the next phase of our journey to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Computing lessons to students in Years 7-13, adhering to the national curriculum and exam specifications.
  • Inspire students to problem solve and create creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their personal and academic goals.
  • Foster a classroom environment based on mutual respect, inclusivity, and a love of learning.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community through extracurricular activities or pastoral support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge of Computer Science, with the ability to teach up to GCSE level. The ability to teach at A Level would also be beneficial.
  • A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to student progress and achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the school’s Christian ethos and values.

    Operating within the Computing & Business Faculty this job offers a unique opportunity to teach some of a wide range of subjects, including KS3 Computing, GCSE Computer Science, BTEC DIT, Cambridge National iMedia, and A Level Computing Science. The department is housed in a dedicated suite of classrooms, each with an interactive screen, 30 desktop computers, plus each student has their own iPad. The faculty works in a collaborative and supportive way allowing all staff to develop and students to flourish.
