What skills and experience we're looking for
Helston Community College is seeking a Teacher of Construction to join our successful and experienced team, delivering City & Guilds Level 2 in Construction from September 2026.
This role is open to:
- Qualified teachers, or
- Industry professionals with specialist trade skills and experience, even if you do not currently hold a teaching qualification. Full support will be provided as required.
This is a flexible range between 0.5 – 1.00 fte, depending on Post-16 recruitment.

We are looking for a passionate, motivated individual who can inspire and engage students, and help us expand opportunities within the College and beyond – supporting students to develop skills for successful careers in this dynamic industry,
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
· Bring a broad range of skills to support students and colleagues.
· Engage, inspire, and build strong relationships with students and staff.
· Be a committed team player who contributes to a collaborative culture.
· Strive to raise standards of attainment and help drive the success of the College.
· Be ambitious about their own professional development.
You will teach across KS4 and KS5, delivering high-quality lessons that challenge and inspire students. We are looking for someone who:
· Is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about construction.
· Can share expertise and a genuine passion for the subject.
· Is committed to helping students achieve their full potential.
