Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Counsellor for our school. The post would suit an experienced qualified counsellor seeking to expand their counselling expertise. The role is offered on a permanent basis working 15 hours per week, however the successful candidate will need to be flexible with these hours to meet the needs of the School.

Essential educational requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSE's grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent.

Essential qualifications

A recognised qualification in counselling or Psychotherapy

A member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP Accreditation of UKCP registration or eligible for and actively working towards accreditation

Essential skills and experience

Experience of working therapeutically with children and young people

Experience of maintaining accurate confidential records.

Experience of working with a range of IT Systems such as email, Word and Excel to process basic documents and to sort and retrieve data from databases and spreadsheets.

Experience of working with young people and families.

Experience of working successfully with disaffected students, including those with challenging behaviour.
