About the Role:
We would like to recruit a qualified counsellor to work in The Wellbeing Centre here at Colne Valley High School. The service is accessible to all students, age 11-16 as well as staff. It is a professional service which supports and fosters the wellbeing of students and staff, to enable them to achieve their full academic and personal potential.
The successful candidate will provide counselling support for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, issues affecting academic performance and additional complex presenting problems. The post holder must have a recognised counselling qualification (minimum Diploma level) and be a member of BACP or equivalent.
You will be required to evidence that you have experience working with young people, ideally within a school environment. This post would suit a counsellor wishing to expand their expertise. You will be working alongside our full-time qualified counsellor as well as the Manager of the Wellbeing Centre and be part of a small team who offer guidance and peer support.

Colne Valley High School is one of the first purpose built comprehensive schools in England; founded in 1956 and is located in the Colne Valley, an area of outstanding beauty in the east flank of the Pennine Hills in West Yorkshire.

With over 1350 students from September 2020, and an over-subscribed Year 7 & 8 cohort, we are a bustling, popular school with a real community feel.
