What skills and experience we're looking for

Millthorpe School is seeking to appoint a Counsellor who will be responsible for providing a high-quality counselling service, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of all students. The role will include provision of confidential one to one therapeutic support, managing a diverse case load and covering a wide range of emotional and psychological issues.

The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy, and hold or be working towards recognised accreditation with a relevant professional body. You will have experience of counselling young people, including delivering therapeutic interventions and conducting assessments following referrals. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build good relationships with children, young people, staff, families and carers.

The trust will be undertaking a job evaluation exercise in the near future and, therefore, the grade for this position may change.
