Cover Manager job summary
About the role: Hayesbrook Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Cover Managerto join our established team, starting from September. The appointed candidate will work with our team of experienced Cover Supervisors who work across the Academy.
The purpose of the Cover Managerrole is to plan, communicate and implement daily cover for staff absence. Where necessary toliaise with external agenciestoprovide effective short-term cover for teacher absence. The Cover Manager will also cover lessons for absent colleagues which will include leading the lesson which has been set by the class teacher/department. The classroom-based part of the role will be to give instruction and to ensure an appropriate climate for learning. Youwillbe required to respond to pupils’ needs in the lesson and ensure adherence to academy policies for upholding the highest expectations and support for students to succeed, under the professional direction of teachers.
This role would be ideal for candidates wishing to gain valuable classroom experience; possibly as a precursor to teacher training or studying for a classroom support qualification. But would equally suit individuals who believe in the power of education to change lives and communities, and wish to contribute to the lives of young people.
This is a permanent position offering an actual salary between £17,738-£18,926 (£21,801-£23,262 full time equivalent), commensurate with experience.
