About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support teaching and learning in the absence of classroom teachers, ensuring continuity and high-quality delivery across all subjects. You’ll work directly with students in the classroom, delivering pre-prepared work and supporting behaviour and engagement. You'll also play an important role in supporting school operations and contributing to a calm, orderly, and productive learning environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring work is completed.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and engagement.
  • Register pupil attendance and provide feedback on progress.
  • Support school systems, including seclusion, registration and cover logistics.
  • Assist in lesson planning, marking and school events when required.
  • Liaise with supply agencies and support effective cover management.
  • Uphold and promote the school's values and safeguarding practices.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Can manage a classroom effectively and positively.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, organisation and initiative.
  • Has experience in education or working with young people (desirable).
  • Is committed to student welfare, equality, and achievement.
  • Has strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.

Qualifications and Experience

  • GCSE or equivalent in literacy and numeracy (essential).
  • Experience working in an educational setting (desirable).
  • Knowledge of SIMS and statutory school procedures (desirable).
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training (desirable).
  • Spoken English proficiency at CEFR Level B1 or above.
