The Queen Elizabeth Academy are seeking to appoint two Cover Supervisors to join our well established cover supervisor and administration team, taking a full and active part in the varied daily life of our forward thinking, modern academy.
We are recruiting for two roles:
Cover Supervisor 1: NJC 8 -15, 31.65 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
FTE: £22,777 - £25,878 per annum
Actual salary: £16,684 - £18,955 per annum
This position is for a flexible Cover Supervisor who will form positive relationships with students and will deliver lessons to a high standard.
Cover Supervisor 2: NJC 15 – 22, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
FTE: £25,878 – £29,439 per annum
Actual salary: £22,160 - £25,209 per annum
This position is for a flexible Cover Supervisor who will form positive relationships with students and will deliver lessons to a high standard. The successful candidate will liaise and organise appropriate cover throughout the day using our list of agencies, induct safeguarding to supply staff when they arrive, collate booking confirmations and carry out ID and DBS checks in the absence of the HRA. They will also collate all work for supply teachers for the day.
For both posts: the cover supervisor at TQEA may also be asked to work with departments maintaining and supporting the educational environment by creating academy and classroom display under the guidance of the Senior Leadership team or middle leaders. The successful applicants may also be expected to offer support to the administrative team. They will be an effective communicator, able to work well within a team but also to use their own initiative when required.
What the school offers its staff
The Queen Elizabeth Academy is an 11-16 mixed academy based in Atherstone with approximately 715 pupils on roll. Following our Ofsted inspection in June 2022, we retained our “Good” rating, a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and students. Ofsted commented the pupils were “respectful of each other’s views and are exceptionally supportive. Pupils behave well. They are proud of their school and the improvements that have been made in recent years. Pupils enjoy school and know that leaders and staff have the highest expectations for them.” The Ofsted report is a fair reflection of the academy and we continue to develop as we push from Good to Great.
In November 2016, as part of the Priority School Building Programme, we moved into brand new premises that have given us access to fantastic new facilities, which really set us apart in the locality.
As a proud Academy Transformation Trust academy we are devoted to professional development and support which is second to none. Our trust is registered as Disability Confident and we welcome all applications. Our ATT Institute offers hundreds of training events and leadership accreditation qualifications to develop your talent to its full potential. As an academy we believe it is our role to develop your expertise to the full through supportive coaching in order to transform the lives of our students.

The Queen Elizabeth Academy is part of the Academy Transformation Trust family of academies. We are located in the historic North Warwickshire town of Atherstone. The school’s traditions are founded upon the opening of the original Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in 1573. In 2016 the school moved into a state of the art learning facility which provides outstanding opportunities for our whole community to learn and grow together. We epitomise our mission that, “We can and we will,” in all we do and the year on year successes our students celebrate is testimony to the lived experience of our core purpose. We provide every TQEA student, from all backgrounds and with all abilities, with an exceptional education underpinned by an ambitious curriculum and high quality teaching. It is a curriculum for all in which students’ talents in Humanities, Technology, Arts, Performance and Music are nurtured along with the Core curriculum of Mathematics, English, Science and Citizenship. In doing so we prepare students for lifelong learning and the opportunity to compete and succeed in their chosen career path. Therefore, for every student we have the highest ambitions and this leads us to expect excellent standards of personal behaviour and mutual respect from all in our community. Most importantly we are relentless in our care for our students and are committed to safeguarding. We want our students to emerge from their time at TQEA as happy, personally and academically successful young people who are well-prepared to contribute positively as adults to their families and their communities. We look for a number of outstanding qualities in our staff: an innovative and creative approach to their work; enthusiasm, positivity and an unfaltering commitment to our students’ success, and an open- minded, proactive attitude to working within a team. We want individuals who want to go the extra mile for our community. Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do and by working together we aim to secure a successful future for all. We encourage those interested in joining our school to spend some time with us to gain a real understanding of our ethos and what we have to offer. The dedication of the staff and the enthusiasm of the students, coupled with the support of our parents and carers, makes this a special place.
