We are seeking a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join Cottenham Village College. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, ensuring continuity of education during teacher absence.
You will supervise classes, deliver pre-set work, support positive behaviour for learning and help maintain a calm and focused classroom environment. This role is ideal for someone considering a future career in teaching or education, or for someone with strong organisational and interpersonal skills who enjoys working with young people.

Key responsibilitiesAs a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback on pupil engagement and behaviour to teaching staff
- Support a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
- Assist with administrative tasks linked to cover arrangements where required
- Support the Cover Manager during periods of absence, including assisting with the planning and coordination of school cover
- Contribute to the wider life of the school
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Is confident managing groups of young people in a classroom environment
- Has strong organisational and time management skills
- Is adaptable, resilient and able to respond to changing priorities
- Shares our commitment to high expectations and positive behaviour
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Has experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
- Is interested in education and supporting student success
