The Avenue Centre for Education is looking to appoint an experienced, supportive and adaptable individual to take on the role of Cover Supervisor. The successful candidate should be passionate about education and be confident and motivated to want to see our young students achieve.
Cover Supervisors play an important role in our school, maintaining continuity of education for our students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring that the work set is understood and completed, while promoting high standards of conduct and learning.
The right candidate should:
- Be resilient and have good behaviour management skills within the classroom.
- Be organised and have knowledge of school routines.
- Understand the National Curriculum and have the ability to support the delivery of it.
- Be able to hold good relationships with staff, students, parents and other stakeholders.
- Be flexible across year groups and adapt to different situations where necessary.
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
The position is a permanent one, starting September 2024. The hours are:
- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.40 am to 4.00 pm
- Tuesday 8.40 am to 4.30 pm
- Friday 8.40 am to 3.30 pm
This is a total of 35 hours per week, term time plus 1 week. Lunch Break will be 20-minutes (unpaid).
