Cover Supervisor job summary
The University of Kent Academies Trust are seeking to recruit experienced, hardworking individuals for the role of Cover Supervisor at Brompton Academy.
You will be part of a team responsible for supervising whole classes of students to cover short term absences of teachers (planned or emergency cover). This will involve facilitating students learning through supporting them with set activities (provided by teachers), responding to questions from students and managing their behaviour according to Trust Policy.
To be successful in this role you will need to be well organised, confident and work well as part of a team. Previous experience in a similar role or classroom experience will be useful but not essential. However, flexibility, resilience, good numeracy and literacy skills and excellent communications skills will be key.
This is a valued and respected role in of itself, but this role may also be of interest to candidates who are considering training to teach in the future. A significant number of our Cover Supervisors have gone on to train to teach with the Trust and we would be happy to support you on this journey if that is your aim.
Brompton Academy is an extremely popular oversubscribed academy. We have fantastic new buildings, with outstanding facilities, and Apple technologies for all, enabling us to enhance and support cutting edge learning strategies required for continuous improvement.
