Cover Supervisor (casual basis) job summary

Vacancy for Cover Supervisor at Sharnbrook Academy

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 6, Points 7-12 of the Meridian Trust Support pay scale. Hourly pay is £13.72 - £14.86 (FTE).

This appointment will be on a casual basis, as required, during term time periods.

We are looking to appoint a casual Cover Supervisor within our support team at Sharnbrook Academy to cover periods of short-term staff absence. We are looking for an engaging, enthusiastic and committed candidate who can provide high quality supervisory cover for our Key Stage 3 and 4 classes. You will need to be adaptable to respond to the requirements of the teaching timetable and supportive in achieving the best possible learning outcomes for our students.

The opportunity

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task.
  • Deliver prepared lesson plans and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Support students’ learning and uphold the school’s policies and values.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement.

The ideal candidate

  • Good educational background with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience of subject background and working within the education sector
  • Able to manage students' behaviour confidently and positively
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, parents and outside agencies.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of the need for confidentiality and awareness of safeguarding issues
  • Flexibility of working hours, committed and reliable with excellent timekeeping
