Cover Supervisor job summary
Chelmsford County High School is a great place to work with a caring ethos - our students are motivated, pleasant, courteous, well-behaved and enormous fun! They like school, and enjoy learning, achievement is high, and almost all the students go on to Higher Education at the most competitive universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
The role of Cover Supervisor is a key part of our school operations, and we are therefore looking for someone who is calm, reliable and adaptable, and who puts students’ learning, wellbeing and safety first. You should be confident in managing classrooms and maintaining high standards of behaviour and routines and be a positive role model who sets clear expectations and promotes respect and inclusion. As a values‑driven team player who demonstrates integrity, professionalism and consistency, you should also be an effective communicator who builds positive relationships with students, colleagues and support staff to contribute to the smooth running of the school. Experience of working in an educational environment and of using SIMS would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.
The post is by casual arrangement, and the post-holder will need to be available on a flexible basis, to meet the needs of the school operation.
Interviews will be held on a rolling basis as and when suitable applications are received and we reserve the right to recruit before the deadline.
The Academy Board of Trustees is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share in this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS Clearance.
