What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit a skilled member of staff to be our Cover Supervisor. You will be a flexible and highly capable individual who is able to respond to the needs of the school at short-notice. You will need to be highly organised, adaptable and solution focussed. You will be able to teach and manage different subjects and ages of children in line with the school’s teaching and behaviour expectations.

About You

The successful candidate will be a team player that will work collaboratively with the Cover Coordinator to ensure classes are covered. You will be organised, able to follow instructions and have excellent communication skills in order to build and maintain positive relationships with young people whilst upholding our Behaviour Policy and the school’s expectations of our pupils. You will have a professional, flexible and helpful approach to your work.

What the school offers its staff

The successful candidate will find themselves working in a friendly, supportive and ambitious environment, where we always strive to provide our students with an amazing learning experience.

Commitment to safeguarding

Posts involving direct contact with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected'. These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
Shortlisted candidates will need to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the interview. You may be asked for information about your criminal history during recruitment.
