We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor (30hrs per week, term time plus 3 additional days) to join our team at Howden School. The hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
Howden School is part of The Consortium Academy Trust. We are ambitious about the future – creating learning environments and excellence in teaching and learning that provide our children and young people with the best chance at a successful future. Coupled with this is the commitment, care and investment in our people, who we believe are our greatest asset. If you are a team player who is looking for a varied and interesting new career opportunity within education, then we want to hear from you!
As a Cover Supervisor you will work under the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Department to deliver class work to students in the absence of their classroom teacher. To be successful in this you will need to feel confident that with training you will be able to direct young people in their activities, have a presence in the classroom, maintain discipline and create a calm and productive environment for learning.
About You
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level 4 (or equivalent) in both English and Maths, be IT literate, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work both as part of a team and independently. The successful candidate will also have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection and be able to establish good professional relationships. Please see the attached job description for a conclusive list of qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills required for this position.
What WE can Offer YOU
In return for your skills and experience, we provide a supportive and friendly environment to develop and thrive. We offer all staff access to an excellent pension (TPS/LGPS); a generous annual leave entitlement with additional shutdown days over the Christmas period; staff development opportunities; free onsite car parking; and a supportive induction programme.

We want to make sure no one is put at a disadvantage during our recruitment process because of a disability, condition or impairment. To assist you with this, we will reduce or remove any barriers where possible and provide additional support where appropriate.
If you need a change to be made so that you can make your application, please do not hesitate to contact us.
