Cover Supervisor- St Josephs Catholic Primary Academy

To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with whole class or small groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas where the headteacher is satisfied that the person is fit to deliver these and will involve discussion and limited input with the teacher, in a planning cycle and in the management/preparation of resources where applicable.

Staff will also supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers, such as covering staff training, illness and other operational needs of the school. The primary focus will be to maintain good order and to keep pupils on task. Staff will need to respond to questions and generally assist pupils to undertake set activities.

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
