Cover Supervisor job summary

Be the Constant That Makes a Difference

In a school, consistency matters. When teachers are away, students still need structure, focus and encouragement. That’s where a Cover Supervisor makes a real impact, providing stability, maintaining routines, and ensuring learning never misses a beat.

At Oasis Academy Wintringham we’re looking for someone confident, adaptable and student focused, someone who can step in seamlessly, lead a classroom with assurance, and create a calm, productive learning environment, even at short notice.

If you want a role where your presence genuinely matters every day, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.

We offer:

  • Term time only working, supporting a healthy work–life balance
  • High quality professional development within the academy and across the Oasis network
  • Clear investment in your training and future progression
  • A supportive, ambitious team culture
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work has a direct, positive impact on young people

This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same, involving the delivery of pre planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups while maintaining calm, focused and purposeful classrooms. You will promote positive behaviour and high expectations for learning, respond flexibly and professionally to changing needs, and work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency for students.

What we’re looking for:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English and ideally a Level 3 qualification
  • Confidence leading a classroom and engaging young people
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, authoritative approach
  • Excellent organisation, resilience and adaptability
  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
  • Most importantly, reliability, commitment, and a genuine desire to support students

Why join Oasis Academy Wintringham?

Oasis Academy Wintringham is a values driven, inclusive community committed to delivering Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community. You’ll be part of a team that believes in strong relationships, high expectations and supporting every student to succeed.

If you’re ready to be a steady, positive influence in students’ lives, we would love to hear from you.
