Cover Supervisor & Sports Coach job summary

Main duties and responsibilities

• Covering lessons during short-term staff absence
• Supervising the class whilst they complete tasks set by the teacher
• Assisting in the teaching of games and extracurricular sport programmes
• During periods when no cover is required, the postholder will be expected to help with other administrative or support staff tasks, as requested by the Cover Manager.

Requirements

• A talent in one of our major sports, i.e. rugby, hockey or cricket
• A commitment to extracurricular, mid-week and Saturday fixtures is essential
• An organised, thorough and committed individual with an ability to command respect from students
• Energy, enthusiasm, dedication and a willingness to contribute to the student experience in this busy school.

Contract

• Required for 5th January 2026
• Full time (37 hours per week), term time only (38 weeks per year)
• Grade H5, Actual Salary £23,663 per annum
• Additional income can be generated by taking on lunchtime duties.
