Vacancy for Cover Supervisor!

Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Term time plus one week
Start date: September 2026
Salary: £21,550.38 (includes a first aid allowance)

We are now looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor within our Support Team who share our core values which are set out clearly in the job description. This post will be a wonderfully rewarding experience for the successful candidates as they will be joining a supportive team which is well resourced and part of our wider Meridian Trust family.

The opportunity

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students in their learning and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
  • Be the first point of contact for first aid when not in the classroom

You will play a key role in ensuring that learning remains purposeful and productive in the absence of the class teacher.

The ideal candidate

  • Good educational background with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of using different IT software such as Microsoft Office, Email
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, parents and outside agencies.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of the need for confidentiality and awareness of child protection issues
  • Flexibility of working hours, committed and reliable with excellent timekeeping
