Salary: Band C Point 13 - 19

(£22,135.89 - £25,374.05 actual salary per annum)

33 hours and 20 minute per week

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

50 minute unpaid break each day

37 weeks per year, term time only

Fixed term until 31st August 2027

Thameside Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Cover Supervisor to support cover within the school. Thameside Primary School is a part of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust, our schools have previously supported Cover Supervisors to complete their Teaching Training and progress to teachers within their schools.

Key duties of the role:

  • Supervising classes and supporting pupils
  • Delivering cover work set by the class teacher
  • Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil’s progress against lesson plans, conduct of the lesson and keeping pupil related records
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures
  • Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
  • Provide additional support to teachers in classrooms, to carry out administrative tasks when not covering a class
  • Acting as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and behaviour and adhering to the schools behaviour management policy

The successful candidate will have:

  • The ability to support pupils with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills, with a positive and helpful attitude
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and remain positive
  • The ability to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students’ welfare
