Cover Supervisor job summary
The successful candidate will:
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task with the work set.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour for learning policy to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
Distribute and explain pre-prepared work, ensuring students understand the tasks they are expected to complete.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff about any issues or noteworthy behaviour.
Ensure a positive classroom atmosphere that supports learning, encourages student participation, and minimizes disruption.
Take attendance and record absences in accordance with school procedures.
Support students individually or in small groups if they need clarification or assistance with tasks.
Liaise with teaching and support staff to ensure continuity of learning and address any concerns that arise during cover sessions.
