We are seeking to appoint ahigh-calibre Cover Supervisor to join our talented and supportive teamat The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls.The cover supervisor's main role will be to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task withpre-prepared exercisesandactivities that have been set by the teacher, and to support them wherever possible.You should have a passion for working with young people to ensure they can fulfil their potential.It is an amazing opportunity to gain a clear understanding of a school’s day-to-day operation if you are interested in undertaking ‘Teacher Training’ in the future

The successful candidate will:

  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team of professionals
  • Excellent communication skills, oral, written and presentation skills
  • The ability to manage, supervise and direct the activities of children and young people.
  • Proficiency in the use of ICT and the software programmes used in schools
  • The ability to deploy a range of strategies and techniques to encourage positive behaviour and maintain order and discipline
  • The ability to become familiar with the relevant curriculum information and teaching methods

The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls is a non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for girls aged between 11 and 18. It is located in Romford in the borough of Havering, London. The number of pupils is approximately 1,300.

The school was established in 1906 by Frances Bardsley with the aim of providing free education to the local girls. Formerly across two different sites until 2003, it became The Frances Bardsley School for Girls in 1972 and converted to academy status in 2012.
