Cover Supervisor job summary
Due to a growth in student numbers,We are seeking Cover Supervisors who will be a key part of our team. You will supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and 4, during the absence of the assigned teacher, deliver pre-planned and set work, ensuring an understanding of the tasks which have been set. You will also need to manage student’s behaviour at all times in accordance with the school behaviour policy, to ensure that students are on task and working to the best of their ability, deal with any immediate problems according to school procedures, take the register and provide written feedback to the class teacher
The successful candidate will have high expectations, a commitment to raising standards of attainment and up-to-date knowledge of teaching and behaviour management strategies. We are seeking passionate and driven individuals with good communication and organisational skills and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our students and their community.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills with evidence of grade A*- C or 4 and above in Maths and English at GCSE level and have the ability and confidence to use ICT. Experience of working with children and/or students is desirable and at interview, you will be able to clearly display an affinity to the pastoral care of students in school.
Successful applicants will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to liaise effectively with a wide range of people including, parents, teachers, students and support staff.

The Wilnecote School is situated South East of Tamworth, near to the Warwickshire border.
It is a very exciting time to be part of The Wilnecote School learning community.

In June 2019 an Ofsted inspection rated leadership and management, behaviour and personal development and welfare as good and noted that ‘the school is improving in all areas with rapid improvement evident in many areas’. Inspectors noted that due to ‘determined strategic leadership’; ‘behaviour is good’, ‘outcomes improved considerably in all subjects in 2018’ and ‘pastoral care and support for pupils are a strength of the school’.
We have introduced a number of strategies that are helping us to ‘ensure excellence’ and achieve the vision and aspirations we have for the young people at our school.
Our school is a genuine community school. The majority of young people in the area join our school but students from across the town also come here.
