Cover Supervisor with Form Tutor Duties
Grade 7 | 30 hours per week | Term time only plus INSET days (39 weeks) | Permanent
Working hours: 8:25am - 3:30pm
The Cooper School is seeking a reliable and motivated Cover Supervisor with Form Tutor responsibilities to join the team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting teaching, learning and pastoral care across the school.
You will supervise pre-set lessons in the absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. In addition, you will take on the role of Form Tutor, providing day-to-day pastoral support and helping to promote positive student outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:- Supervising lessons and maintaining a positive, orderly learning environment
- Supporting students’ academic progress and wellbeing
- Acting as a Form Tutor, including delivering tutor time activities (e.g. PSHE)
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality and behaviour, and communicating with parents/carers where appropriate
- Providing feedback following cover lessons and supporting wider school systems
- Attend regular staff briefings
- Be available to cover tutor time sessions
- Provide cover for targeted interventions as required
- Is organised, adaptable and confident working with young people
- Has strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Demonstrates resilience and the ability to work effectively in a busy school environment
- Is committed to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
A good standard of education (including GCSE Maths and English or equivalent) is essential.
