Cover & Trips Administrator job summary

Chatham Grammar is seeking a highly organised and proactive Cover and Trips Administrator to manage daily staff cover and support the administration of school trips. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of staff cover by liaising with supply agencies, maintaining accurate records, and providing timely cover details to staff. You will act as the primary point of contact for all cover-related matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and monitoring costs. This role is 37 hours per week, term time only and is being offered on a permanent basis. Some flexibility in the working pattern is possible, however, the successful applicant must be available to start at 7.15am each day.

In addition to cover management, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation and administration of school trips, working closely with subject departments to coordinate logistics and ensure all necessary arrangements are in place. The role also involves general administrative duties, including preparing reports, maintaining databases, and assisting with budget monitoring.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you have experience in administration and enjoy working in a dynamic school setting, we would love to hear from you.

How to Apply

Your application should be made after reading the job description and person specification, and you will use the application to tell us how your current skills and experience fit the requirements and why you think you would be suited to this role. CVs will not be accepted.

We are keen to attract top talent to our inclusive Trust, and therefore, we welcome applications from all people across the community spectrum regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, sexual orientation, disability, gender reassignment or age.

The University of Kent Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

In addition, the Trust will carry out an online search once as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is intended to help us identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. The selection panel will then explore such items with the candidate during interview. The Trust’s HR Team or another member of staff trained in safer recruitment will use Google.com to conduct each search, and no adverse judgement will be formed for applicants with limited or no online footprint.
