What skills and experience we're looking for
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Creative Arts Leaderto join The Basildon Upper Academy, on a one-year fixed-term contract (maternity cover).
Salary £33,959— £51,984(M1 - AL3 Academy Qualified Teachers Scale), plus £5000 ARA (Academy Responsibility Allowance)
Start date: September 2025
Our academy operates across two sites.The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst The Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5.
The Creative Arts Faculty boasts a team of highly trained creative and motivated practitioners who work collaboratively to share and develop each other's specialisms through department CPD.
TheUpper Academy students are able to access a photography studio with multiple backdrops and professional lighting, a darkroom, dedicated photography studio with DSLR cameras and industry-standard editing software, dedicated industry-standard KS5 studio with individual work stations and display boards for each learner, large scale printing, 3D printer/ laser and spray booths for spray paint, textiles facilities including sewing machines and Digital Graphics tablets. Both the Upper and Lower Academy Creative Arts Teams are supported by a team of technicians.
