About this Role
We are committed to providing an exceptional education for all our learners and we are now seeking a passionate, dedicated and creative Curriculum Lead for Geography to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey and personal development of young learners. You will contribute to raising standards of attainment and facilitate a learning experience that allows individuals to fulfil their potential.
Lyndon is part of Summit Learning Trust comprising Lyndon itself, Ninestiles Academy, Cockshut Hill School five primary schools and the Sixth Form College Solihull. The leadership team of Lyndon is progressive and has the vision, drive and support to lead the academy on a journey of excellence, with colleagues that have a passion for teaching and learning. Here at Lyndon School, we aim to broaden horizons, build confidence and encourage our learners to explore new skills, creating opportunities for learners to become compassion, confident and successful individuals. Right now, we are looking for an inspiring teacher who can bring Geography to life, with passion, creativity and create a nurturing environment within which everyone can reach their full potential.
You should be able to teach Geography across the ability range for KS3 and KS4 with an interest in the breadth of cross curricular opportunities of Humanities based subjects. A real interest in developing pedagogy and practice is also important. This post will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to work with colleagues from across our trust and beyond to develop best practice and collaboratively plan for the delivery of an outstanding, innovative curriculum. - Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in your subject specialism
- Plan and teach a curriculum that inspires, challenges and supports all learners
- Create a positive, inclusive and ambitious learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and motivated to achieve their best
- Contribute to the wider life of the academy, promoting our ethos of ambition, collaboration and community
- Support, guide and develop the pedagogical practice of a team, supporting improved and sustained outcomes.
- Monitor progress and provide effective feedback to enable all learners to succeed
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to enhance student outcomes
About You
- A qualified teacher (QTS) with a passion and enthusiasm for their subject
- Has high expectations and a commitment to raising achievement for all
- Demonstrates creativity, flexibility and resilience in their approach
- Builds strong, positive relationships with learners, parents and carers, and colleagues
